Kit Weber, Horn, comes from a family of amateur musicians who insisted that he begin playing the piano at age 5. He started playing the horn in the 2nd grade because he was jealous of his older sisters choosing the clarinet and the oboe to play in the school band. His father, in order to alleviate the sibling rivalry, pulled out his old horn and taught him the necessary techniques and fingerings to begin playing. Kit has received degrees from Illinois State University and the University of Michigan in music performance. Upon completion of a post-graduate degree, he worked for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra running the youth ensemble program for that organization.  Kit worked in Detroit for 5 years while also playing with most of the professional and community orchestras in Southeast Michigan, Northern Ohio and across the Detroit River in Canada. Kit and his wife, Maureen, relocated to Salt Lake City when Maureen won a job with the Utah Symphony as one of the librarians. Kit is a member of the Boise Philharmonic and has also performed with the Utah Symphony,  and played for studio recording sessions. Kit’s teachers have included Karl Pituch (Principal Horn of the Detroit Symphony), Denise Tryon (Fourth Horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra), Sören Hermansson (internationally recognized virtuoso), Joe Neisler and Lorraine Fader.  In his free time Kit enjoys skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, swimming and cooking.
